Modern slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Herbprime Co. Ltd
Financial Year: 2024–2025

1. Introduction

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps Herbprime Co. Ltd (“Herbprime”, “we”, “our”) has taken to help ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains.

Herbprime is committed to acting ethically, responsibly, and with integrity in all our business relationships. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to take a proactive, risk-based approach to preventing modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.

2. Our Business

Herbprime Co. Ltd is a UK-based company supplying Chinese herbal medicine products, acupuncture supplies, and related medical and wellness products to licensed practitioners, clinics, wholesalers, and educational institutions in the United Kingdom and selected international markets.

Our activities include:

  • Wholesale and distribution of concentrated herbal granules and traditional medicine products
  • Supply of acupuncture needles, medical devices, and clinical equipment
  • Collaboration with approved overseas manufacturers and authorised distributors

Our operations are primarily based in the United Kingdom.

3. Our Supply Chains

Herbprime’s supply chains include:

  • Finished goods sourced from established manufacturers and brand owners
  • Products manufactured primarily in Asia
  • Goods supplied via authorised distributors and long-term manufacturing partners

We acknowledge that parts of the global medical and herbal supply chain may present a higher inherent risk of modern slavery due to geographical, regulatory, or labour-practice factors.

4. Policies on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

Herbprime has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.

We are committed to:

  • Conducting business ethically and transparently
  • Complying with applicable laws and regulations relating to labour standards and human rights
  • Working with suppliers who share our commitment to responsible and lawful practices

We expect our suppliers and partners to uphold similar standards and to take reasonable steps to ensure their own supply chains are free from forced labour, child labour, and human trafficking.

5. Due Diligence and Risk Management

We take a proportionate, risk-based approach to managing modern slavery risks within our supply chain. Our measures include:

Supplier Assessment

Evaluating suppliers and manufacturing partners prior to engagement, taking into account geographic risk, product category, and supplier reputation.

Supplier Relationships

Favouring long-term relationships with established manufacturers and authorised distributors with known compliance records.

Standards and Certifications

Where applicable, prioritising products manufactured in accordance with recognised quality and regulatory standards.

Ongoing Review

Monitoring supplier performance and reviewing relationships where concerns are identified.

Where a potential risk or breach is identified, we will engage with the relevant supplier to seek improvement. If adequate progress is not made, we reserve the right to review or terminate the business relationship.

6. Training and Awareness

We aim to ensure that relevant staff involved in procurement, supplier management, and operations are aware of:

  • The risks of modern slavery and human trafficking
  • The importance of ethical sourcing and responsible supply chain management
  • How to raise concerns if potential issues are identified

Training and awareness are provided in a manner appropriate to the size and nature of our business.

7. Reporting and Whistleblowing

Herbprime encourages employees, partners, and stakeholders to raise concerns about unethical practices or suspected instances of modern slavery.

Concerns can be raised through established internal reporting channels and will be treated seriously, confidentially, and without retaliation.

8. Measuring Effectiveness

Given the size and nature of our business, we focus on continuous improvement rather than formal metrics. We assess effectiveness by:

  • Reviewing supplier relationships
  • Monitoring industry developments and regulatory guidance
  • Periodically reviewing and updating this statement

We are committed to strengthening our approach as our business and supply chains evolve.
